Dave supplies the distinctive voice of Take Four Jazz. Most comfortable when mining the depths of Soul Jazz, R&B, and Hard Bop, DJ's got all the street cred he needs, having shared the stage with Danilo Perez, Branford Marsalis, the Village Vanguard Big Band, and Nancy Wilson. Locally he's played with the Salt City Jazz Collective, Joe Carello, Joe Riposo, Angelo Candela, Jeff Stockham, Bob & John Sneider, Terell Stafford, Bill Dobbins, Nancy Kelly, Fred Sturm, John Bailey, and Jiggs Whigham. DJ is a recent graduate of the Ithaca College School of Music brings both flash and feeling to every song he plays.... Not to be missed!
|Dan Skidmore - (Guitar)|
Dan is a veteran of the CNY club and festival scene, playing with dance and variety bands such as Soul Mine and Entourage, and novelty acts like Street Corner. Dan has extensive experience in many settings, including accompanying Nancy Kelly and Ronnie Leigh, the Le Moyne and Fredonia Jazz Ensembles, and the orchestrapits of Rent ,The Wiz, Bye Bye Birdie, and Footloose, and various on-call and sub projects. A musical pro in every sense of the word, Dan is the one you want making sure that your event is flawless!

Dave has played for 18 years in and around the Western NY region in a multitude of styles, spanning rock, reggae, ska, funk, and jazz. In addition to being a member of Rochester Brass & Electric, he has performed and recorded with the bands Fringe City, The Beaumonts, J.O.D., and the Charlie Mitchell Jazz Combo. Additionally, he’s worked as an on-call bassist for a number of original/cover acts and various recording projects at Blackdog and GFI studios; most recently with Rupert Greenall from the Fixx. Smooth and funky!
|Jack Potter - (Drums/Percussion)|
Jack is primarily known for his work as a progressive instrumentalist, artist, and composer on the Melodic Revolutions Records label, which published his most recent, critically acclaimed album Celestial Adventures. Closer to home, he's put in more than two decades in the CNY region with the variety act Entourage and many other regional performers. In a small ensemble, such aa Take Four Jazz, Jack brings both the energy and the touch - developed over years of live performance - to keep the music fresh but not overpowering. "Refreshing," indeed!
